Janice T. Kenney

Janice T. "Jan" Kenney, 63, of Hermiston, died June 17, 2010, in Pendleton. She was born July 15, 1946 in The Dalles, parents, Lloyd and Gladys Perkins Ordway.

Jan was raised and attended schools in The Dalles area, graduating from The Dalles High School in 1964. She met John H. Kenney Jr. in Irrigon on March 12, 1965. He proposed on March 21, gave her a ring on April 1, and they were married on July 15, 1965 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.

She worked as a nurse's aide for many years at Valley Vista Nursing Home in The Dalles and later at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Pasco, Wash. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and playing the piano.

She is survived by her son: Jon Kenney, Seattle; brothers Gayle Ordway, The Dalles; Russell Ordway, West Linn; Danny Joe Ordway, Troutdale; and Gary Ordway, Lake Stephens, Wash.; four grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: John H. Kenney Jr., her parents, a sister Susan Ordway and a brother Raymond Ordway.

A celebration gathering will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Sun Terrace 1550 NW 11th St., Hermiston, OR 97838
